12:26 a.m. Report of a suspicious male asking for water at the Scratching Post Cat Rescue on N. Chili Ave. Unable to locate. The officer stood by while the complainant walked to their vehicle.

2:10 a.m. Report of a building check in the 100 block of N. Broadway St. Checked ok.

2:59 a.m. Report of a suspicious person in the 100 block of E. 2nd St. Unable to locate.

3:09 a.m. Report of a suspicious vehicle at McClure’s Oil on S. Broadway Ave. Unable to locate.

4:47 a.m. Report of a traffic accident with damage in the area of W. US Route 24/N. Mexico Rd. Michael Holland, 55, of Denver, stated that he was driving his 2019 Peterbilt tractor-trailer northbound on Broadway and believed that he had a green light when he looked down to shift gears. Holland stated that when he looked back up to proceed northbound on Broadway, he noticed the 1996 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Andrew Ferguson, 32, of Rensselear, in front of him traveling eastbound and attempted to stop to avoid the collision. Holland stated that he was unable to stop in time and collided with the rear passenger side of Ferguson’s trailer. Ferguson stated that he was eastbound in the driving lane of US-24 and believed he had a green light. Ferguson stated that he observed Holland entering the intersection from Broadway, so he swerved to the passing lane to avoid the collision but was unable to avoid hitting Holland’s vehicle. Ferguson stated that he then pulled off the roadway and came to a stop. No witnesses or cameras were seen in the area to verify either driver’s story.

8:26 a.m. Report of two vehicles left in the backyard of a residence in the 500 block of E. 3rd St. The vehicles do not belong to the complainant. The officer contacted the registered owner who advised that they would get the vehicles moved.

9:47 a.m. An officer stood by while plywood was loaded into a vehicle in the area of Delores St./N. Broadway St.

10:20 a.m. Report of juveniles breaking bottles near the old train cars in the 1 block of W. 10th St. One bottle was observed by the officer. The juveniles were advised not to do such actions in the future and to stay off railroad property.

10:25 a.m. Report of a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of E. 6th St. No further information provided.

11:24 a.m. Report of a welfare check in the 40 block of Bobtail Pike. No further information provided.

12:20 p.m. Report of a fight in the 20 block of S. Park Ave. Verbal argument and threats over money. Assistance given.

4:28 p.m. Report of an attempt to break into Secondary Metals on E. 9th St. after business hours. Minor damage was reported to the rear door, unknown if anything was missing.

4:38 p.m. An officer assisted a caller in the 300 block of W. 12th St. with a civil matter.

5:22 p.m. Report of a possible protective order violation in the 400 block of Cherokee Ct. The subject was not the person named on the order. No action taken.

5:39 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle at CVS on S. Broadway St.

5:41 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of W. 5th St./N. Broadway St. Warning issued.

6:35 p.m. Report of a loose dog in the 400 block of E. 3rd St. The dog was located and returned to its owners. Assistance given.

6:37 p.m. Report of a juvenile problem in the 400 block of E. 3rd St. Issue addressed.

7:14 p.m. Report of a two-vehicle accident with only property damage in the area of S. Business 31/W. Main St. A state crash report will be completed.

7:38 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. Fremont St./W. 2nd St. Citation issued to the driver. The passenger, Elizabeth Shamburger, of Logansport, was arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of a Syringe.

7:53 p.m. Report of an unwanted guest in the 300 block of E. 6th St. Issue addressed.

8:27 p.m. Report of a suspicious person at CVS on S. Broadway St. Issue addressed.

9:54 p.m. Report of a verbal domestic disturbance in the 500 block of W. 7th St. One party left the residence. Both parties advised it was a civil issue.

10:18 p.m. An escort was provided in the 800 block of N. Broadway St.

10:39 p.m. Report of a possible gunshot in the 600 block of Apache Dr. No further information provided.
