12:24 a.m. Officers assisted Dukes EMT’s with a medical call at Casey’s General Store on N. Broadway St. The subject refused medical treatment.

12:57 a.m. Extra patrol was provided in the 200 block of Chili Ave.

1:28 a.m. Report of a suspicious person at the pumps at JJ’s Pitstop on N. Broadway St. Checked ok.

2:15 a.m. Extra patrol was provided in the area of Longview Dr./W. 14th St.

2:29 a.m. Extra patrol was provided at West City Park.

9:12 a.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle in the 400 block of Boulevard.

10:18 a.m. Report of a fire on the railroad tracks in the area of N. Benton St./6th St. The railroad company was doing a controlled burn. Checked ok.

10:28 a.m. Report of possible drug activity in the 300 block of Blackhawk Ct. No further information provided.

11:35 a.m. Report of a disabled vehicle in the area of W. US Route 24/N. US Route 31. The driver of the vehicle advised that they had pulled over to write something down. No assistance needed.

11:42 a.m. The Probation Department requested an officer regarding a male subject who had an active warrant. The officer arrived on the scene and found the subject to be intoxicated. Gary Clegg, 29, of Peru, was taken into custody and transported to the Miami County Sheriff’s Department. Due to the level of alcohol in Mr. Clegg’s system, he was then transported to Dukes Memorial Hospital for evaluation. Once cleared, Mr. Clegg was returned to the Miami County Jail without further incident.

12:10 p.m. Report of a parking problem in the 1 block of E. 6th St. The owner of the vehicle was contacted by telephone. The vehicle was removed from the roadway.

1:00 p.m. An officer assisted a semi driver who was unable to get under the underpass in the area of N. Broadway St./W. 10th St.

1:46 p.m. An officer at the Peru Police Department spoke with an individual regarding an incident that had occurred with a family member earlier in the day. Assistance given.

2:21 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of W. Main St./N. Miami St. Written warning issued.

2:36 p.m. Report of a welfare check in the 100 block of E. 8th St. Checked ok.

2:58 p.m. An officer assisted with a civil issue in the 20 block of Adams Ave.

3:09 p.m. Report of an abandoned vehicle in the parking lot at Peru Apartment on Franklin Court. The vehicle has been left on the property since December of 2019. The officer advised that the property manager could have the vehicle removed from the lot.

3:19 p.m. An officer spoke with an individual at the Peru Police Department in reference to a civil issue. Assistance given.

3:27 p.m. An officer assisted with a civil issue regarding property in the 90 block of Thorpe Dr.

3:40 p.m. Report of a juvenile in standing in the roadway in the area of S. Fremont St./W. 3rd St. Unable to locate.

3:48 p.m. Report of a 911 hang-up in the 800 block of W. Main St. Accidental dial. Checked ok.

4:12 p.m. A syringe was found in the area of N. Cass St./W. 7th St. This item was disposed of in the appropriate manner.

5:54 p.m. Report of a one-vehicle crash in the 600 block of W. 11th St. This call was handled by the Miami County Sheriff’s Department.

6:11 p.m. An officer took a report of a fraudulent email in the 100 block of N. Chestnut St. The complainant wanted a report made for the record.

8:31 p.m. Report of an impaired driver in the area of S. Business 31/S. US Route 31. Consensual contact was made, and the driver was not observed to be impaired.

8:45 p.m. Report of a dog struck by a vehicle in the 70 block of W. 3rd St. The canine later observed to have wounds as if from another animal. The owner of the dog was located and took possession.

9:21 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle in the 300 block of Boulevard.

9:48 p.m. An escort was provided in the 800 block of N. Broadway St.

10:00 p.m. Report of a welfare check in the 500 block of W. 7th St. The individual had concerns that their neighbor was spying on them with an x-ray machine. Assistance given.

10:08 p.m. Report of a welfare check in the 400 block of Apache Dr. Checked ok.

11:05 p.m. Extra patrol was provided at Maconaquah Park.

11:16 p.m. Extra patrol was provided in the area of Rosewood Dr./Parkway Terrace.
