12:34 a.m. Controlled substance problem in the 300 block of W. 12th St. Officers received a report of a possible fight with drug usage. Upon arrival, t was determined that nothing had occurred and that the complainant made a false call.
12:54 a.m. A report of a suspicious person/vehicle at the Mount Hope Cemetery. An officer checked on a vehicle parked in the grass. The owner advised she would be moving it soon. It was parked there due to not having anywhere else to park.

3:01 a.m. An officer located a juvenile out after curfew in the area of N. Union St. / W. 7th St. The juvenile was escorted home.
3:57 a.m. A report of a subject crouching behind a vehicle as the caller went by in the area of Water St. / E. 6th St. Officers checked the area and did not locate anyone. The vehicle owner was contacted, and she advised that she had just been at her vehicle around the time of the call. Checked ok.

9:13 a.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle at the PNC Bank on S. Miami St.
9:48 a.m. Central dispatch advised of an unknown vehicle parked on complainants property at Christensen Masonry on German St. Complainant had question reference towing the vehicle. The complainant stated vehicle might be driven by someone who works for him and would attempt to figure that out. Assistance was given.

1:27 p.m. A request for a welfare check in the 500 block of E. 3rd St. False alarm, no problems found.
1:34 p.m. Traffic stop in the 100 block of W. Main St. Citation issued.
1:44 p.m. Civil matter in the 700 block of Tyler Ave. The subject had questions regarding personal belongings inside his girlfriend’s residence. The subject will call for a police standby when she is home later this evening.
1:55 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle at the Dairy Queen on N. Broadway St.
2:58 p.m. Agency assistance at the Department of Child Services on S. Wabash St. An officer escorted a male juvenile to the Peru Junior High School at the request of the DCS.
3:11 p.m. An officer took a report of theft at the Peru Police Department.
3:59 p.m. Property damage accident in the area of W. Main St. / N. Grant St. Dylan J. Childers, 19, of Peru, was operating a 2001 GMC Sierra truck west on Main Street. When he noticed that traffic in front of him was stopped, he advised that he pressed down on the brake pedal and that it went all the way to the floor. Childers stated that he knew he needed to bleed his brakes, but he just hadn’t done it yet. The GMC stuck a 2018 Dodge RAM operated by James M. Wright, 45 of Peru. The damage was estimated at between $5,001 and $10,000. A state crash report was completed.
4:20 p.m. Agency assistance in the 300 block of W. 12th St. Notification that a subject was bonding out of jail. Officer was unable to make contact.
5:25 p.m. Animal problem at Animal Control on German St. Subjects transported a dog to the pound. An officer secured the dog in the pound.
5:26 p.m. Civil call in the 300 block of W. 12th St. A deputy spoke with a male subject who had a question about how he could get his belongings from his parent's residence. Assistance was given.
6:26 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Benton St. / E. 6th St. Written warning issued.
6:36 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle in the 200 block of S. Broadway St.
6:59 p.m. Follow up at the Knights Inn on S. Business 31, Peru. Follow up regarding an attempt to locate that Officer Doran had put out.
7:16 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle at Kroger on W. Main St.
7:41 p.m. Officers assisted EMS with a medical call at Arby’s on W. Main St. A female passed out and struck her head. Officers stood by with the patient until Dukes EMS arrived.
7:54 p.m. Citizen assistance at the Hospital. A female in the hospital requested that the officer make contact with her neighbor and give him some information. Assistance was given.
8:03 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of W. 3rd St. / S. Broadway St. Citation issued.
8:03 p.m. Citizen assistance in the 200 block of W. 3rd St. Citizen had questions regarding a civil matter. Assistance was given.

8:46 p.m. A report of someone breaking into a shed in the 200 block of Van Buren Ave. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the individuals at the shed who reported they were placing a lock on the shed at the owner’s request. This was confirmed by the owner. Checked ok.
8:59 p.m. Traffic hazard in the area of Water St. / E. Washington Ave. An officer observed a broken streetlight hanging by a wire. Peru Utilities was notified, and the surrounding area was taped off to avoid it falling and injuring someone.
9:10 p.m. Wanted person in the 400 block of Cherokee Ct. Unable to locate.
9:55 p.m. Business escort from Dairy Queen on N. Broadway St.
