5:07 p.m. An officer responded to the report of a suspicious person in the 70 block of W. 2nd St. A male subject locked himself out of his house and used a window to gain entry to the residence.

5:19 p.m. An officer spoke with juveniles at Miami’s Fort Playground who were using explicative language. The teenagers were asked to be respectful while they were in public. No further action taken.

5:20 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of W. Riverside Dr./S. Wallick Rd. Written warning issued.

5:25 p.m. An officer responded to the report of a traffic accident with property damage in the area of Roxy Lane/N. Broadway St. Travis Dunn, of Peru, advised that he was traveling southbound on Broadway in his 2007 Buick Lacrosse when he reached down to get a cigarette. Dunn looked up and attempted to stop but was unable to. Dunn struck the rear end of a 2004 Ford Expedition driven by Kelly Hanaway, of Peru. Hanaway advised that he had to stop due to the vehicle in front of him and that is when his vehicle was struck in the rear.

5:28 p.m. Officers located a man who was locked in the restroom at Miami’s Fort Playground. The Peru Fire Department assisted with removing the lock.

5:53 p.m. Officers responded to the report of an unwanted guest in the 200 block of W. 2nd St. A male subject refused to leave the premises upon being asked by the complainant. The male was escorted from the property by law enforcement upon the request of the resident.

6:51 p.m. Officers responded to a medical emergency in the area of N. Duke St./Boulevard. A male subject was treated on scene and then transported to Duke’s Memorial Hospital.

6:57 p.m. An officer responded to the report of suspicious people at Auto Zone in the 600 block of N. Broadway St. A couple were charging their phone at their storage lot. Everything checked ok.

7:01 p.m. While on duty an officer observed a male subject walking in the area of Boulevard and Matilda St. that the officer recognized from prior calls for service. Billy Sivits, 39, of Peru, was taken into custody on an active Henry County arrest warrant.

11:26 p.m. Officers responded to the report of an individual taking an unknown pill in the 400 block of Cherokee Ct. Upon arrival the individual checked out ok by EMT’s however another individual was found to have an active arrest warrant. Jason Lyons, 37, of Peru, was taken into custody for an active Miami County arrest warrant.

12:14 a.m. An officer provided stand-by for a tow company for a repossession in the 300 block of E. Main St. Assistance given.

12:23 a.m. An officer notified the security staff at Duke’s Memorial Hospital that they could have a vehicle which has been abandoned in the parking lot for several weeks removed at their request. The security staff advised that they would forward that information to the appropriate administration.

1:19 a.m. Officers responded to the report of a domestic disturbance in the 1500 block of S. Strawtown Pike. Upon the arrival of law enforcement, both parties were talked to by officers. Nothing physical happened and both agreed to sleep in different areas of the house.

1:23 a.m. Officers responded to the report of a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of E. 5th St. A verbal dispute between mother and son with both individuals being allowed to remain at the residence for the night.

2:10 a.m. Officers responded to the report of a domestic disturbance in the 60 block of S. Holman St. An officer spoke to both parties and one half left for the night with the children.
