12:28 a.m. Report of a traffic accident with damage in the 100 block of W. 5th St. It was reported that a red lifted Jeep with a bumper guard attached to the front of the vehicle struck a Peru Utilities power line pole near the bottom chipping some of the wood. A witness stated that the Jeep continued driving away and believed that the driver may not have been aware of hitting the pole due to the vehicle size and the speed at which they were driving. Only an internet line was found to be slightly drooping but not near the ground. A Jeep matching the description of the one involved in the incident was located parked at a residence near the area. The vehicle owners were located but no damage was found on their vehicle, and the owner advised that they had not been in the area at the time of the incident. An accident report was completed due to the damage done to City property.

6:32 a.m. Report of an alarm in the 900 block of N. Broadway St. The building was cleared and secured the door. The keyholder was notified.

9:41 a.m. An officer spoke with a caller in the 100 block of E. Riverside Dr. in reference to criminal mischief. A report was made for insurance purposes.

11:28 a.m. A funeral escort was provided for St. Charles Catholic Church.

11:38 a.m. Report of a traffic accident with damage at CVS on S. Broadway St. Michelle Moeller, 51, of Peru, had stopped her 2012 Chevrolet Impala at the entrance to CVS when the 2012 Chevrolet Impala driven by Kara Holser, 31, of Peru, clipped her vehicle. Holser stated that she thought she could make the turn without colliding into Moeller’s vehicle. A state crash report was completed.

2:45 p.m. Report of an intruder in the 20 block of Donat Dr. A male subject was located and sent on their way.

3:12 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle at Krogers on W. Main St.

4:19 p.m. An officer assisted an individual in the 100 block of Logan St. who had questions regarding the eviction process.

6:15 p.m. An officer at the Peru Police Department spoke with an individual regarding possible tax fraud. While the officer was speaking with the subject their taxes were accepted. No further fraud case was needed.

7:30 p.m. Report of a noise complaint in the 300 block of Blackhawk Ct. The complainant reported doors slamming at their apartment building. The officer spoke with the individuals who answered the door where the noise was suspected to be coming from. Both residents advised that they had been arguing with a friend, who had already left the area. Checked ok.

7:55 p.m. Report of a parking problem in the 200 block of E. 3rd St. Written warning issued.

8:36 p.m. Report of a parking problem in the 200 block of W. 3rd St. Written warning issued.

9:49 p.m. Report of a single-vehicle accident at Subway on N. Broadway St. State crash report completed.

4:34 p.m. Warrant service in the 400 block of Washington Ave. Dakota Foust, 25, of Peru, was arrested on two Miami County Warrants (1) Dealing Methamphetamine (2) Possession of Methamphetamine.

4:47 p.m. Report of suspicious activity near sheds that were for sale in the 200 block of W. Main St. Unable to locate anyone suspicious.

4:59 p.m. Report of a hit and skip accident in the area of Smith St./E. 5th St. A state crash report was completed.

5:13 p.m. An officer spoke with an individual in the 60 block of W. Main St. who had questions about protective orders.

6:47 p.m. An officer at the Peru Police Department spoke with an individual who had questions about protective orders.

7:02 p.m. An officer spoke with an individual in the 30 block of W. Warren St. who had questions about no-trespass warnings and protective orders.

4:54 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of Graham Ave./Wallace Ave. Jimmy MacIsaac, 56, of Peru, was arrested on charges of Operating While Intoxicated, Habitual Traffic Offender, and Operating While Intoxicated-Endangering.

6:49 p.m. An officer at the Peru Police Department attempted to assist a citizen who had questions regarding a civil issue. The officer was unable to contact the complainant.

7:22 p.m. Report of disorderly juveniles in the 200 block of W. 8th St. The parents were advised of their options in reference to their children’s actions. The parents advised that the assistance of law enforcement was not needed at this time. No further action taken.

7:58 p.m. An officer spoke with an individual in the 300 block of W. 7th St. who had questions regarding a civil issue.

9:08 p.m. Report of a medical emergency at the Gallahan Truck Stop on W. 100 N. The Indiana State Police Department arrived on the scene prior to the arrival of the Peru Police Department and handled the call.

12:15 a.m. Citizen assistance in the 100 block of Huntington St. Assistance given.

1:16 a.m. Extra patrol was provided in the 300 block of S. Broadway Ave.

3:51 a.m. Officers assisted with a possible overdose in the 300 block of Harrison Ave.

10:27 a.m. Report of a runaway juvenile in the 200 block of Monroe Ave. The juvenile was located and returned to their father.

10:56 a.m. Report of a disabled semi-trailer in the roadway in the area of W. Main St./S. Broadway St. The driver had help on the way. Assistance given.

12:01 p.m. Report of a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of W. 6th St. This was a civil matter about property. Items were exchanged. Assistance given.

12:33 p.m. Report of a domestic disturbance in the 1 block of Plaza Dr. The officer spoke with both parties involved in the incident who advised that it was just a verbal disagreement. Nothing physically took place between them. The parties separated by their choice. Assistance given.

2:16 p.m. Report of a welfare check in the area of N. Broadway St./Boulevard. The subject advised that they were fine. EMS was called to check the subject out.

3:05 p.m. Report of a juvenile problem in the 30 block of W. 10th St. Runaway juvenile. Report completed.

3:29 p.m. Report of loud noises that were possibly fireworks in the 60 block of E. Main St. Officers checked the area and did not see or hear anything. Unable to locate.

7:48 p.m. Report of a noise complaint in the 400 block of Apache Dr. The complainant reported that they could hear loud music. Upon arrival, the officer could hear a baby crying but there was no music playing. The resident advised that they didn’t have their music on.
