1:52 p.m. Property damage accident in the 300 block of W. Canal St. Melissa L. Taylor was operating a 1998 Toyota Camry westbound on Canal Street. Taylor states she doesn’t remember what happened leading up to the crash. The vehicle left the roadway, colliding with a rock in the yard of a residence in the 300 block of W. Canal St. and continuing west before colliding with a tree in the yard of a second residence in the 300 block of W. Canal St. No one witnessed the actual collision but a person on the scene stated that the female left the vehicle in gear and continued to rev the engine in an attempt to drive away. Both airbags had deployed. Taylor was put through Standard Field Sobriety Tests and then looked at by EMS. Still unknown how the crash occurred. Damage estimated at between $5,001 and $10,000.

2:47 p.m. Property damage accident in the area of Smith St. / E. Main St. Barbara M. Plath, 86 of Peru was stopped at the stop sign on Smith Street facing Northbound in a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser. She stated she looked both ways the proceeded to make a left hand turn onto Main St. She was then struck by a 2017 MAC 800 operated by Roger V. West, 54 of Kokomo. West reported he was not able to stop in time to avoid the collision. The damage was estimated at between $5,001 and $10,000. A state crash report was completed.

Reed, 32, of Peru, advised she was backing from a parking space in her 2001 Ford F350 and struck a parked GMC Acadia owned by Kimberly Baker of Galveston. The damage was estimated at between $2,501 and $5,000. A state crash report was completed.
