12:52 a.m. Report of a suspicious vehicle at JJ’s Pitstop in the 600 block of N. Broadway St. The officer spoke with the individuals.

1:43 a.m. An officer spoke with four subjects who were sitting outside of an abandoned factory in the 200 block of N. Miami St. The subjects checked ok but were asked to leave the area. Assistance given.

1:54 a.m. Extra patrol was provided at Maconaquah Park.

2:02 a.m. Report of a domestic disturbance in the 10 block of N. Benton St. This was a verbal altercation between a mother and adult daughter. Assistance given.

2:13 a.m. Report of a prowler in the 700 block of Jackson Ave. The complainant advised that someone had rang their doorbell 30 minutes prior. The officers checked the complainant’s property and the surrounding area. Unable to locate. Assistance given.

3:24 a.m. An officer checked on a vehicle with the dome light on in the 900 block of Rosewood Dr. It appeared that the light had been left on accidentally. The vehicle appeared to be secure and nothing looked to be disturbed. Assistance given.

4:13 a.m. Report of an assault in the 60 block of W. Riverside Dr. A domestic incident resulting in the arrest of Joshua Emerson, of Peru, on charges of Domestic Battery and Strangulation.

7:45 a.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle in the 200 block of E. 9th St.

9:41 a.m. Report of a 911 hang-up in the 200 block of W. 3rd St. Accidental dial. Checked ok.

10:05 a.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle in the 400 block of Jefferson Ave.

11:11 a.m. An officer took a report of items stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of E. Warren St. Report made for the record.

11:34 a.m. Report of the theft of medication in the 10 block of Adams Ave. The medication was found prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

11:44 a.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle in the 20 block of W. 5th St.

11:54 a.m. An officer was dispatched to the CVS in the 1 block of S. Broadway St. in reference to a female subject sitting on the sidewalk who appeared to be agitated. The officer spoke with the subject who advised that they were homeless. CVS allowed the woman to remain on the property. Checked ok. Assistance given.

12:05 p.m. Report of a domestic disturbance in the 20 block of S. Park Ave. The officers spoke with a resident at the property who advised that there was no emergency. Everything appeared to check ok. Assistance given.

12:30 p.m. Report of the theft of moped parts in the 100 block of N. Holman St. No further information provided.

12:44 p.m. Officers attempted warrant service at The Smoke Shop in the 500 block of W. Main St. Unable to locate.

1:21 p.m. Report of a disorderly male subject in the area of Wayne St. / E. 5th St. No further information provided.

1:22 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the Dollar General in the 700 block of S. Broadway Ave. in reference to a male and female attempting to use counterfeit twenty-dollar bills that had left the store. After further investigation officers located both individuals. Randy Garrett, of Peru, was arrested on an active Miami County Arrest Warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine. The female was released at the conclusion of the investigation.

1:28 p.m. Report of criminal mischief at the B&K Root Beer Stand in the 200 block of S. Broadway Ave. The complainant advised that there was graffiti on the windows and that signs had been stolen. Extra patrol was requested.

2:09 p.m. Report of a welfare check in the 500 block of E. 5th St. Checked ok.

3:51 p.m. Report of a welfare check in the 400 block of Monroe Ave. Assistance given.

3:55 p.m. Report of a possible break and entering at Cole Brothers Water in the 50 block of Strawtown Pike. The building was checked with no signs of forced entry. One door was unsecured, the building was checked with no one was found inside. Checked ok.

4:57 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle at Auto Zone in the 600 block of N. Broadway St.

5:04 p.m. Report of a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of E. Main St. Upon the arrival the officer did not locate anyone in the area. The officer checked the alley where dispatch advised that the male party was walking but was not able to locate anyone.

5:07 p.m. Report of a suspicious person in the area of Rosewood Dr. / Orchid Pl. Assistance given.

5:11 p.m. Report of fights in the 200 block of Apache Dr. No further information provided.

5:42 p.m. An officer assisted with a medical call in the 10 block of Logan St.

5:53 p.m. Report of juveniles in the roadway in the 400 block of W. Main St. No further information provided.

6:01 p.m. Report of a traffic accident with damage at Dukes Memorial Hospital in the 200 block of W. 12th St. Local crash report completed.

6:39 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle at the YMCA in the 30 block of E. 6th St.

7:37 p.m. Report of a suspicious vehicle driving in the area of E. 5th St. Unable to locate.

7:45 p.m. Report of agency assistance at Dukes Memorial Hospital in the 200 block of W. 12th St.

7:51 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle at the Dollar General in the 900 block of W. Main St.

8:28 p.m. An officer took the report of the theft of a firearm in the 100 block of Shields Ave. Assistance given.

8:32 p.m. Report of a 911 hang-up in the 500 block of Oak St. Checked ok.

8:34 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Holman St. / W. Main St. Verbal warning issued.

8:40 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle in the 500 block of Van Buren Ave.

9:43 p.m. Report of a verbal altercation in the 100 block of Tippecanoe St. The subject that caused the altercation was gone upon the arrival of law enforcement. The remaining subjects were advised to keep their volume down to a low roar.

9:53 p.m. An escort was provided in the 800 block of N. Broadway St.

10:10 p.m. Report of a gunshot in the 500 block of Monroe Ave. The officer checked the area but was unable to locate anyone or anything.
