6:36 a.m. Property damage accident in the 100 block of W. 6th St. Central dispatch advised of a complainant stating the mirror on his truck had been struck sometime during the night. A local crash report was taken; assistance was given.

7:07 a.m. A report of a dog being left outside without shelter in the 10 block of E. Franklin St. The matter was referred to Animal Control Officer.

2:40 p.m. A report of fraud was taken from a citizen at the Peru Police Department.

3:04 p.m. Agency assistance in the 200 block of W. 5th St. Stand by while Department of Child Services spoke with subjects.

3:56 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a disabled vehicle in the area of N. Kelly Ave. / W. Main St.

4:09 p.m. An officer conducted a welfare check in the area of Blackhawk Ct. / CR. 100 E., Peru. An officer responded to a complaint of three small children playing in the roadway. Upon arrival, the officer located three young females on Blackhawk Ct. The officer spoke with their mother regarding the issue. Brittany Howard-Smith, 30 of Peru was arrested on a Kosciusko County Warrant.

4:13 p.m. A report of a suspicious vehicle at Dollar General on W. Main St. Prior to arrival, Dollar General called back an advised they no longer needed Police assistance.

5:10 p.m. Warrant service at Aldi’s on W. Main St. Robert Pike, 41 of Kokomo was arrested on a Miami County Warrant for Failure to Appear.

6:02 p.m. Citizen assistance in the 300 block of E. Main St. A caller had questions regarding her temporary tag falling off. Assistance was given.

6:20 p.m. A report of a suspicious subject in the 60 block of E. 2nd St. An officer spoke with a male subject how resembled a male with an active arrest warrant. After speaking with the male it was confirmed that it was not the male subject with the warrant. No action was taken.

9:51 p.m. An officer spoke with a male and female in the 500 block of E. 5th regarding a complaint of a female that had not returned their vehicle after they let her borrow it. Assistance was given.

10:07 p.m. Agency assistance in the 100 block of E. Warren St. Agency assist with a subject who had a warrant. The subject was located by Lt. Ulery and taken into custody by County Deputy. Billy Maze was arrested on a Miami County Warrant for Strangulation, Intimidation, Criminal Confinement, and Criminal Mischief.
