12:19 a.m. Domestic disturbance in the 400 block of Blackhawk Ct. After investigation, it was found that nothing physical occurred. Assistance was given.

12:46 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of E. State Road 124 / Wallace Ave., Peru. Citation issued.

1:13 a.m. Traffic stop at the 0 Bourne End Entrance. Written warning issued.

1:46 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of Parkway Ter. / S. Broadway Ave. Warning issued.

2:27 a.m. Traffic stop in the 20 block of S. Benton St. Aaron Nightingale, 20 of Peru was arrested on a charge of Possession of Controlled Substance.

2:30 a.m. K9 deployment in the 20 block of S. Benton St. Free air sniff.

3:25 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of W. Main St. / S. Broadway St. Citation issued.

4:19 a.m. Citizen assistance in the 200 block of W. 12th St. Intimidation/threats report taken. This case is under investigation.

7:15 a.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle in the 00 block of Center St.

9:26 a.m. A report of threats was taken at Peru Junior High School. The incident took place on Friday. A report was made.

9:50 a.m. Property damage accident in the area of N. Broadway St. / E. 6th St. Carolyn L. McKinley, 84 of Peru was operating a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina pulling out of a parking lot onto N. Broadway Street when she hit the accelerator instead of the break, and continued southbound, striking a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Terry E. Wray, 58 of Peru in the rear. The damage was estimated to be between $2,501 and $5,000. A state crash report was completed.

9:59 a.m. An officer responded to a dispute between neighbors in the 200 block of Cherokee Ct. Assistance was given.

10:27 a.m. An officer responded to a report of harassment in the 300 block of E. 5th St. Upon investigation, it appears to be a civil matter. Assistance was given.

12:10 p.m. An officer took a civil complaint from a citizen regarding auto repair at a local establishment. The citizen was advised to contact the manager of the shop that did the repairs.

12:38 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle at the JJ’s station on N. Broadway St.

2:06 p.m. A report of trespassing under the Nickle Plate Bridge in the 900 block of W. Main St. Subjects in tents were located under the bridge.

2:25 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. Wabash St. / E. Main St. Written warning issued.

3:06 p.m. A report of a juvenile problem at the Peru Police Department. This was a call in regard to another case that had been worked by Officer Swinford and Det. Pitner.

3:36 p.m. Controlled substance problem at Peru Junior High School. Peru Junior High School Resource Officer Jay Smallwood asked for an officer to supply a drug test kit for vape oil confiscated from a student at the school. An officer supplied the test kit and found the oil did not contain THC.

3:51 p.m. 911 Hang-up in the 300 block of Jefferson Ave. Checked ok.

3:53 p.m. An officer conducted a welfare check in the 40 block of Plaza Dr. This was a verbal argument between mother and daughter. Checked ok. Assistance was given.

5:24 p.m. A report of vandalism in the 60 block of S. Huntington St. Assistance was given.

5:38 p.m. Property damage accident in the area of W. 100 N. / N. US Route 31, Peru. Crystal S. Hooks, 28 of Indianapolis was stopped at the light at US Route 31 and W. 100 N., Peru in a 2015 Jeep Patriot. Steve P. Nordman, 34 of Peru was directly behind Hooks in a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado. When the traffic light for the left turn lane turned green, Nordman proceeded south striking the rear of the Jeep. The damage was estimated at between $2,501 and $5,000. A state crash report was completed.

6:53 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle at East End Pizza on E. Main St.

8:13 p.m. A report of multiple juveniles loitering in the 100 block of E. Washington Ave. The subjects left upon request.

8:21 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle in the 200 block of E. Canal St.

8:29 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. Lafayette St. / W. Main St. Written warnings issued.

9:05 p.m. A report of an alarm in the 400 block of N. Chili Ave. Checked ok.

9:20 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Chili Ave. / Washington Ave. Verbal warning issued.

9:27 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Broadway St. / E. Washington Ave. Citation and a verbal warning issued.

10:31 p.m. Deposit escort from the Dairy Queen on N. Broadway St.

10:51 p.m. A report of a suspicious person/circumstance in the 400 block of W. Main St. Report of male and female subjects running into traffic and stopping vehicle flow. Male subject fled from law enforcement and was later detained. Male released to parents with charges submitted to juvenile probation. Female was detained then released with a summons for minor consumption of alcohol.

10:59 p.m. Attempted warrant service in the area of N. Brownell St. / W. 7th St. Officers were unable to locate the wanted subject.

11:29 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Grant St. / Boulevard. Written warning issued.

11:50 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Cass St. / W. 6th St. Written warning issued.
