12:38 a.m. An officer spoke with a female who was walking in the middle of the roadway in the area of Water St. / E. Main St. The woman was advised to use the sidewalk when they are available.

12:53 a.m. Building check in the 200 block of W. Canal St., Peru. Open door observed. Building cleared of occupants. The door was secured upon exit.

1:01 a.m. Building check in the 100 block of W. Main St. Checked ok.

1:04 a.m. Citizen assistance in the area of N. Denver St. / E. Washington Ave. An officer checked on a woman walking in the rain. Checked ok.

1:26 a.m. A report of a male subject walking in the alley behind a residence in the 600 block of W. 6th St. No subject was located in the area matching the description given. Officer Shoffner spoke with a male and a female in the area and the female, Melinda Millican, 36 of Peru was arrested on an active warrant through Miami County.

1:44 a.m. A request for a welfare check in the 400 block of W. Main St. The subject checked ok.

2:04 a.m. Citizen assist at Dukes Memorial Hospital. Dispatch advised of a combative male at the hospital waiting to be transported for an emergency detention order. Officer Adkins handled this call. The subject was not combative upon officer arrival.

2:38 a.m. An officer observed a vehicle fire in the area of N. Union St. / W. 6th St. Dispatch was advised of the situation. PFD responded.

10:26 a.m. A traffic violation was reported in the area of N. 175 E. / E. US Route 24, Peru. An officer observed the vehicle and no infractions were observed.

11:38 a.m. Funeral escort in the 100 block of E. 3rd St. Escort complete.

11:43 a.m. Property damage accident in the area of Elm St. / Daniel St. David A. Wiley, 43 of Peru was northbound on Elm approaching the 90-degree turn in a 2010 Jeep. Wiley advised that a semi-truck and trailer was headed southbound on Daniel Street and took the entire lane as it made the curve. A 1999 Chevrolet Prizm operated by Jasper M. Carter, 18 of Peru was directly behind the semi. The jeep and the Prizm collided causing damage to both vehicles. Both drivers were seen by EMS and refused further treatment. A state crash report was completed.

1:26 p.m. Property damage accident in the area of N. Broadway St. / Daniel St. Richard E. Holler, 82 of Denver, IN was operating a 2006 Ford Taurus stopped at a red light when his foot slipped off the brake pedal causing him to strike a 2012 Toyota Prius operated by Mary C. Zellers, 64 of Peru. Damage was estimated at between $2,501 and $5,000. A state crash report was completed.

2:22 p.m. Property damage accident in the area of Main St. / Clay St. Terry L. Sullivan, 61 of Peru was operating a 1999 Dodge Caravan eastbound on Main Street approaching Clay Street when she collided into the rear end of a 2000 Chrysler Town and Country operated by Angela Alpha, 44 of Logansport. Damage was estimated at between $ 2,501 and $5,000. A state crash report was completed.
