6:33 a.m. A report of a possible impaired driver from an off-duty officer in the area of William St. / W. 10th St. The vehicle was located, and the driver was determined to not be impaired.

7:51 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Broadway St. / W. Albert St. Verbal warning issued.

8:23 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of W. Main St. / N. Grant St. Citation issued.

9:53 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of Delores Ave. / N. Broadway St. Written warning issued.

10:01 a.m. Property damage accident in the 700 block of N. Broadway St. Charles T. Cline, 64 of Peru was operating a 1998 Mercury southbound in the parking lot of Veteran’s Affairs when his child dripped something in the back seat. Cline stated he turned around to see what the child dropped when he struck a parked 2005 Ford F150 owned by Donald F. Brooks of Peru. Cline reported that he got out of his vehicle and checked for damage and did not locate any. He then got back into his vehicle and left the scene after not finding any damage. The owner of the Ford reported he was inside the VA office and did not witness the crash. There were two witnesses to the accident. Cline was located a short time later. Damage was estimated at between $5,001 and $10,000. A state crash report was completed.

10:50 a.m. Citizen assistance at the Peru Police Department. A citizen was concerned about the safety of one of her tenants. Officers had previously conducted a welfare check on the tenant and the situation was handled. Assistance was given.

1:53 p.m. 911 Hang-up in the 300 block of Harrison Ave. Checked ok.

2:08 p.m. A report of possible fraud was taken at the Peru Police Department.

2:48 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. Garfield St. / E. 3rd St. Written warning issued.

4:18 p.m. Property damage accident in the area of W. US Route 24 / N. Mexico Rd. A local report was taken. No additional information was provided on this call.

4:23 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle in the area of W. Main St. / S. Broadway St.

4:44 p.m. A report of a suspicious person/circumstance in the 400 block of Apache Dr. A woman received a friend request and accepted it. She then received what she thought to be strange messages from the Facebook friend. The female then blocked the subject. Assistance was given.

5:12 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of W. 2nd St. / S. Forrest St. Warning issued.

5:16 p.m. K9 deployment in the area of W. 2nd St. / S. Forrest St. Free air sniff.

5:28 p.m. A report of the theft from a bank account was taken at the Peru Police Department.

6:25 p.m. Traffic stop in the 0 Bourne End Entrance. Citations issued. Male driver cited and released for possession of controlled substance.

6:28 p.m. K9 deployment in the 0 Bourne End Entrance. Free air sniff.

7:41 p.m. Attempted warrant service in the 00 block of Barkley Dr. No contact was made with the subject of the warrant.

8:04 p.m. A report of a suspicious person in the 10 block of E. Canal St. Officers checked the area and were not able to locate the subject.

8:08 p.m. A report of an animal problem in the 200 block of E. Main St. Officers were unable to locate the loose dog in the area.

9:14 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of E. Paw Paw Pike / E. Main St. Leah Myers, 37 of Twelve Mile, IN was arrested on a Miami County Warrant for Violation of Probation.

10:42 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of Water St. / E. Main St. Written warning issued. Randy Garrett, 35 of Peru was arrested on a Miami County Warrant for Failure To Appear.
