1:56 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of W. 7th St./N. Fremont St. Monique Lundie, 36, of Peru was arrested and taken into custody of a charge of Habitual Traffic Offense.

7:05 a.m. An officer responded to the report of a traffic accident with property damage in the area of S. State Road 19/E. 500 S., Peru. Cheryl Kline was driving north on State Road 19 when a deer crossed in front of her blue Chevrolet Tahoe. The driver advised that they attempted to stop but could not stop in time and struck the deer. The deer was deceased and, in the ditch, out of the roadway. Ms. Kline was able to drive her vehicle from the scene.
