7:49 a.m. A report of a dog running loose in the 4400 block of E. State Road 218, Peru. The owner was notified and advised of the ordinance.
7:52 a.m. Traffic accident with damage in the area of W. State Road 16 / N. 150 W., Denver. Car vs. deer. A state report was completed. No additional information was provided on this call.
7:55 a.m. Traffic accident with damage in the area of E. 1400 N. / N. 400 E., Roann. Car vs. deer accident. A state crash report was completed. No additional information was provided on this call.
8:28 a.m. A caller advised of a juvenile in the North Miami School system missing an excessive number of days of school. A deputy went to the residence and provided a transport for the juvenile to school.
10:59 a.m. A report of fraud was taken at Raber’s Country Store on N. State Road 19, Macy. Non-sufficient funds check passed at the store.
12:26 p.m. A welfare check was done on a child at the request of a school official on S. Hilltop Dr., Peru. Everything checked ok.
1:04 p.m. A report of a traffic hazard in the area of Darron St. / Logan St., Peru. A caller advised vehicle quit running. A caller requested help getting a wrecker to take the vehicle to Paul-Richard GM Center in Peru. Assistance was given.
2:05 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. State Road 19 / W. Short St., Amboy. Warning issued.
2:08 p.m. A deputy conducted an extra patrol of North Miami Schools on E. 900 N., Denver.
2:33 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. State Road 19 / E. 1050 S., Amboy. Warning issued.
3:01 p.m. The Miami County Sheriff’s Department conducted an extra patrol at the request of Eagle’s Pointe management. The following violations were observed: 3 warnings for disregarding stop signs, 1 warning for equipment and 1 arrest for habitual traffic violator-life.
3:30 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of Chanute Ave. / Warhawk Rd., Peru. Warning issued.
3:34 p.m. A deputy spoke with a male subject over the phone in reference to a civil matter. Assistance was given.
3:48 p.m. A deputy assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle at the Marathon station on S. US Route 31, Bunker Hill.
3:48 p.m. Citizen assistance in the 1300 block of E. 800 N., Denver. A tree was located across a power line. This was handled by a crew from Duke’s Energy.
3:49 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of Capehart St. / Shaw St., Peru. Warning issued.
4:17 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of Shaw St. / Schilling St., Peru. Warning issued.
4:18 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of Capehart St. / Shaw St. Warning issued.
4:27 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of Capehart St. / Shaw St. Tavaris Greene of Peru was arrested on the charge of operating as a Habitual Traffic Violator – Life.
6:10 p.m. A deputy responded to the 9300 block of N. 100 W., Macy for a report of farm equipment stuck in mud near the Nickel Plate Trail. The owner of the equipment stated there was a civil dispute over the removal of the truck between him and the manager of the trail. The owner of the farm equipment requested the equipment be left in place until tomorrow. The equipment was not a traffic hazard as this part of the trail sits off the roadway. No damage was observed on either the equipment or the trail.
6:12 p.m. Recovered stolen property. An ID was located on a sidewalk in the 1900 block of George Ave., Peru and turned in to the Sheriff’s Department.
7:23 p.m. A deputy checked on a disabled vehicle in the area of W. 400 N. / N. US Route 31, Peru. The driver had roadside assistance on the way.
7:44 p.m. Traffic accident with damage at the Gilead General Store on N. State Road 19, Macy. Kathy Anderson of Rochester was northbound on State Road 19 approaching CR 1400 N. in a 2000 GMC when a deer entered the roadway from the west. Anderson struck the deer with the driver’s side front end of the truck causing damage. There were no injuries. A state crash report was completed.
8:31 p.m. A deputy assisted Denver Fire with a field fire in the area of E. 600 N. / N. 400 E., Peru.
11:35 p.m. A deputy assisted a family with a juvenile problem in the 2000 block of Shaw St., Peru.
