1:31 a.m. Officers responded to the 70 block of W. Riverside Dr. for a possible burglary in progress. A report was taken.
2:26 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Broadway St. / Daniel St. Verbal warning issued.
3:04 a.m. Citizen assistance at the McClure’s Station on E. Main St. Out of town tow truck company had questions regarding repossession. Assistance was given.
3:14 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. Lincoln St. / E. Main St. Verbal warning issued.
3:30 a.m. A report of unsecured premises in the 300 block of Wampler St. An officer located an unsecured door on a church. The building checked ok and officers were able to secure the door upon exiting the building. Assistance was given.
3:57 a.m. A report of a suspicious person/circumstance in the area of N. Jefferson St. / W. 6th St. Vehicle that kept pulling over and turning lights off. The vehicle and occupants ended up checking out ok. Assistance was given.
4:27 a.m. An officer responded to the McClure’s station on E. Main Street for a civil matter. The issue was addressed.
5:41 a.m. Officers assisted EMS with a medical call in the 60 block of E. Warren St.
7:28 a.m. A report of an abandoned vehicle in the 200 block of Madison Ave. The owner showed up shortly after the officer and moved the vehicle.
8:07 a.m. A report of a suspicious vehicle parked in front of an address in the 70 block of E. Warren St. The resident reported there were a number of people inside the vehicle. It was learned that the subjects in the vehicle were helping someone move into a nearby residence. Everything checked ok.
8:18 a.m. An officer conducted a follow-up to a prior case in the 100 block of E. 6th St.
10:22 a.m. Traffic hazard in the area of N. Broadway St. / W. 10th St. A report of a mattress or box spring on Broadway just north of the underpass. This was an unfounded call.
10:44 a.m. A report of a theft at Hickory Creek on Boulevard.
12:27 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of E. 2nd St. / E. Canal St. Verbal warning issued.
12:43 p.m. A report of a suspicious person/circumstance at the Norfolk & Southern Yard on N. Benton St. The subject was located and checked ok.
12:56 p.m. Citizen assistance at the Peru Police Department. A citizen had questions. Assistance was given.
2:26 p.m. Personal injury accident in the area of W. 100 N. / N. US Route 31, Peru. No additional information was provided on this call.
3:30 p.m. Traffic hazard in the area of N. Broadway St. / Daniel St. A report of a reckless driving vehicle. Officers were unable to locate.
3:49 p.m. A report juvenile problem was taken in the 70 block of E. Warren St. Assistance was given.
3:52 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a civil matter at the Peru Police Department.
4:00 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Broadway St. / Boulevard. Verbal warning.
4:46 p.m. Peru Schools requested a welfare check on a parent that didn’t pick a child up from school. Officers contacted the parent who didn’t have transportation. A courtesy transport was provided for the juveniles from school to home. Assistance was given.
4:52 p.m. A report of a juvenile problem was taken in the 100 block of W. 3rd St.
5:04 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle at the YMCA on E. 6th St.
5:17 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of Wayne St. / E. 5th St., Peru. Citation issued.
5:21 p.m. A welfare check was requested on an intoxicated male subject at Dukes Memorial Hospital.
5:32 p.m. A report of disorderly conduct at Papa John’s Pizza at Sherwood Square. A male subject being disorderly inside the store. Guardian advised that the male was issued a no trespass warning for this location. Guardian stated she understood he was no longer to return.
6:05 p.m. A report of an alarm in the 200 block of W. Main St. This was a false alarm. Checked ok.
7:12 p.m. Warrant service in the 200 block of Columbia Ave. Dylan Tharp, 19 of Peru was arrested on a Kosciusko County Warrant.
7:25 p.m. A report of a juvenile problem at Miami’s Fort on W. Canal St. Assistance was given.
7:41 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Holman St. / W. 5th St. Warning issued.
7:51 p.m. Agency assistance in the 10 block of Jean Ave. Bruce Espenscheid, 43 of Peru was arrested on a Miami County Warrant.
8:32 p.m. Traffic stop in the 300 block of Washington Ave. Dakota Rose, Peru was arrested on a Miami County Warrant and new charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia and Resisting Law Enforcement.
10:51 p.m. A report of Criminal Mischief in the 200 block of W. 3rd St. A window on a vacant residence pushed open. No damage reported.
11:19 p.m. A report of theft was taken in the 50 block of Logan St. Landscape décor was taken from front porch.
11:34 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of E. Lovers Lane Rd. / E. Wabash Rd.
