Peru, IN - Since returning to the city of her birth, 2015, Plothow has been actively involved in her community. Much of her interest has been focused on supporting the Circus City Festival, Inc. She has many fond memories of attending the circus as a child in the 1960’s.

“The people of Peru are incredibly kind and giving,” Plothow said. “I have never lived in a community where people reach out and strive to help each other and their city.”

Plothow’s family originally settled in the Peru area in the late 1800s. Many family members remain in Peru and throughout Northern Indiana.

She has a three-point focus:

• Enhance the lives and education of Peru’s youth.
• Increase economic development and diversity.
• Assist the community in creating a stronger infrastructure.

Her education and experience in business management, commercial art, clinical psychology and grant writing/fundraising skills will be important in her work toward fulfilling the goals of the City of Peru.
