Peru, IN - A Carmel, Indiana man was arrested on Friday, December 14, 2018 in Peru on a Hamilton County Warrant for three counts for Failure to Register as a Sex or Violent Offender (Level 6 Felonies), two counts of Failure to Register as a Sex or Violent Offender (Level 5 Felonies), one count of Failure to Notify by a Sexually Violent Predator of Absence (Class A Misdemeanor).

According to information obtained from the Peru Police Department, On December 13, 2018, patrol officers from the PPD discovered a vehicle parked in the area of Turnpaugh Trail that was associated with a male subject who had multiple felony warrants in Hamilton County, Indiana.

Patrol officers briefed investigators on the vehicle and the subject associated with the vehicle.

On December 14, 2018, detectives obtained information indicating the wanted person was in the Oakdale area of Peru.

At approximately 2:16 p.m. on December 14th, detectives located the suspect vehicle and observed the vehicle pull into JJ's Gas Station, 601 North Broadway, where detectives maintained surveillance on the vehicle until patrol officers arrived on-scene.

Patrol officers and detectives located David M. Douglass, 31 years-old, of Carmel, Indiana, as he was exiting the gas station. Officers and detectives took Mr. Douglass into custody on the warrants.

David Douglass, 31 of Carmel, IN was transported to the Miami County Jail on the Hamilton County Warrants for three counts for Failure to Register as a Sex or Violent Offender (Level 6 Felonies), two counts of Failure to Register as a Sex or Violent Offender (Level 5 Felonies), one count of Failure to Notify by a Sexually Violent Predator of Absence (Class A Misdemeanor).

All criminal suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
